My Alphabet Band Sampler chart gets publicity!

I am absolutely chuffed to ribbons – my flabber has never been so gasted!

One of my most recent designs – the Alphabet Band Sampler – has been given a great write-up / plug on Craft Gossip (which is one of my favourite craft sites!):

From the Kinkavel Krosses Folksy store, this band sampler has it all – elegance, ease of stitching, redwork, reusablility (you can make bookmarks, borders, etc with the chart) and a great price! What more need you ask for?

Since it has whole cross stitch only, it would be a great way to get your friend, niece, daughter, nephew, neighbor, or random person on the street to start stitching. Share the stitchy love – give the gift of a band sampler today.

If you’d like to purchase this design, it is available for the low price of just £3.50 from my Folksy Store HERE.

I can only list five at a time, so if there’s none there when you visit, give it an hour or so and it will be relisted, or you can contact me directly on Kincavel_Krosses@yahoo.co.uk to let me know and it may well get sorted out sooner.

Stitchy Saturdays – Serendipity…

Each Saturday, I will feature either something I’m currently stitching, something I’ve just finished stitching, or something I’ve just designed. I hope you’ll all join me in displaying some of your own work and leaving a link to your post in the comments below.

This week I had a bit of serendipitous stitching. I took Xander to a soft play centre and sat down to do a little stitching while he played – it’s something I regularly do when we’re not meeting friends, or until our friends arrive as we’re invariably early. One of the ladies who works at the centre approached me and said that she’d often seen me stitching and wondered if I took orders.

Well, I always have a few of my cards on me so I handed one over and we chatted a while. It seems she started a project years ago for her grandchildren but never finished it as her eyes aren’t as good as they once were and she would like a tag stitched for each of her nine grandchildren to complete the piece. As Im’ a regular customer there, she’ll bring in the piece as it is to show me so we can discuss what she needs.

It’s a good thing she’s in no hurry because I couldn’t possibly take on another stitching commission till at least the new year!

New Designs:
Design: Alphabet Band Sampler
Size: 90w x 137h
This traditional-style sampler was released on Monday 19th September. As you can see, it’s charted for the traditional red, but could be stitched in any colour to compliment your home decor. I think it would look gorgeous in a variegated floss, or you could choose different colours for each section for a completely different look. Or how about different shades of the same colour for a tone on tone look? Or two contrasting colours? It’s up to you!

Design: Vampire Bookmark Duo
Size: 99w x 23h each
This fang-tastic pair of bookmarks will be released on Monday 26th September. They’re quick, versatile pieces that could be stitched in any colour combination and finished in many different ways. As you can see, although the designs are very similar, they look completely different depending on the choices you make.

Stitchy Saturdays – Progress, new designs and SAL

Each Saturday, I will feature either something I’m currently stitching, something I’ve just finished stitching, or something I’ve just designed. I hope you’ll all join me in displaying some of your own work and leaving a link to your post in the comments below.

New Designs:
Design: Home Sweet Home
Size: 84w x 69h
This was released on Monday and is available from my Folksy store. It’s charted for a traditional red, but the colour choice is entirely up to the stitcher. Stitch with or without the border, or leave off the outer border – the choice is yours!

Design: I Love Mr. Darcy
Size: 87w x 51h
This design will be released on Monday and is a freebie for all my fellow Jane-ites. Declare your love for the delectable Mr Darcy with pride, not prejudice. (Apologies, I couldn’t resist that terrible pun!)

Progress:
Design: Quaker Alphabet Sampler
Size: 175w x 85h
Stitched on sand-coloured 28-count Quaker cloth in Threadworx 1089. Only a few squares left to fill, so this one will probably be finished soon!

Design: Rules For Life
Size: 179w x 128h
Stitched on navy 14-count aida in Anchor 1335. I’m stitching this with a group on Facebook – details below!

Stitchy Saturdays – Finishes, new designs and SAL group

Each Saturday, I will feature either something I’m currently stitching, something I’ve just finished stitching, or something I’ve just designed. I hope you’ll all join me in displaying some of your own work and leaving a link to your post in the comments below.

Finishes:
I’ve actually made a small handful of finishes! The first is one of my Crazy January Challenge pieces – Espresso Yourself. Stitched on white 18-count aida; Belle Soie silk in Moss; Dinky Dyes silk in 33 Desert Sands and two different shades of orange glass seed beads. I’ve yet to decide what I will do with it… I’ve now finished six of my fifteen CJC starts. I know I won’t finish them all by the end of the year!

The other finishes are three little Xmas decorations. Stitched in red and green on white 14-count aida and backed with red felt. I used the designs and kit from the latest issue of Cross Stitcher Magazine (issue 244) as I didn’t like the “official” ones from the kit.

New Designs:
A new design out this week – Homo Sweet Homo – available at my Folksy store now. Both colour ways are included in the PDF chart, but you could use any colour combination you fancied.

Coming on Monday is a more traditional sampler – Home Sweet Home. It’s charted for a traditional red, but again, the colour choice is entirely up to the stitcher and I think this would look great in a variegated floss that compliments your home decor. Stitch with or without the border, or leave off the outer border – the choice is yours!
