Day 9 – White Christmas by Bing Crosby

Only one person makes two appearances on my list of favourite Christmas songs…

White Christmas by Bing Crosby was featured in the 1954 musical movie, Holiday Inn, starring Crosby. Written by Irving Berlin in 1940, it was Bing’s version that outsold all others – according to the Guinness Book of World Records, it was the best-selling single of all time, with estimated sales of over 50 million copies worldwide.

It’s not surprising, really; Bing’s voice is like melting chocolate, all silky-smooth and rich. Who wouldn’t want to sit at the piano in a duet with him?

ETA: I’ve had to replace this video twice as YouTube keep removing it, so this version isn’t from the film. You’ll have to click on the link on the video and watch it at YouTube rather than here. 😦
